It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The snow is here! It's cold, but nice to take pictures of.

Out Christmas tree looks ridiculous. Coloured lights up the middle, white and red lights around the outside. Silly, but kind of cute.

I'm 18 now! My birthday was on Thanksgiving.

Ahh. I'm bored.

Hola, world. My name is Emily and I like you.
I'm just getting into photography for realz, and I already am madly in love with it. I try to view the world through a view finder, and frequently wish I had a camera handy to freeze some moments.
Writing is my main squeeze, though, and I am constantly describing everything in my mind. If someone else could hear my thoughts, they would be hearing the Book of My Life, written, edited, illustrated, and published by Yours Truly. Sometimes my thoughts are choppy and disjointed, and that is when I write best.
Music and movies are my lovers on the side. I admire the way a person can become someone else entirely and pull it off flawlessly. I wish I could have that talent. Also, the Playing of Musical Instruments is another skill I long for.
I like it when icons bounce around on the bottom of the screen (fellow Mac users, you catch my drift). I like it when new updates are available for my iTunes, making it shiny new again. I like the sound of a Suzuki TL1000R racing by my house, just begging my heart to race with it. I like music that seeps into my veins and makes my blood dance.
I love living.

Hey, Emily, why do I have a feeling that's you? Welcome to dA! :iconmashedpotatoplz: I'm glad you made it; your gallery's lookin' very nice so far. Hopefully having to upload photos one at a time won't be too time-consuming for you. For that, my suggestion is that you pick your best photos to put up here, and upload the rest en masse onto Facebook.

You may've figured this out by now, but the emotes are put in by typing codes. i.e. : heart : = :heart: (when you take out the spaces). You pretty much have to memorize them to use them, but when you're writing your comment in a comment box (like I am right now), look to your bottom right: there's a link that says Emoticons. Click on that, and it'll open up a list of most of the emotes and the codes for them. =)

There are also some emotes made by users. Those are a little bit trickier, but I'll show you how to use those too sometime.
